Washington: African-American black George Floyd was buried on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in his hometown of Houston. George Floyd was buried in a church after a tribute meeting. More than 500 bereaved people attended this meeting. It has been revealed that after Floyd's death in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020, large-scale protests had begun in many other countries, including the US, to protest against the racist controversy. The video of a black policeman handcuffing the neck of a black man, Floyd, by a white police officer, became increasingly viral on social media. It is clearly visible in the video that the officer holds 46-year-old Floyd neck by his knee for at least eight minutes. During this time Floyd is seen saying that he can't breathe. You can see in that video that even after he stops moving and speaking, police officer Derek Chowin does not remove his knee. This video was made by a passerby.

All four police officers seen in the video have been charged. After Floyd's death, there are continuous violent demonstrations. There have also been incidents of looting in many places. Floyd's body was brought here for the funeral on Saturday. He was buried near his mother. For the past two weeks, Floyd has become a worldwide campaign to eradicate racism.

Hundreds of people stood in the way and outside the crematorium despite the scorching heat when Floyd was being carried to the funeral in a golden coffin at White Horse. Floyd's six-year-old daughter, Jiana, also attended the tribute meeting with her mother, although she does not know how her father died. In honour of Floyd's memory, Texas Southern University has announced full scholarship to his daughter.
