Bhubaneswar: The famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, has reopened on Thursday in the first phase after being closed for more than three months amid stringent corona restrictions. An official said that in the first phase only family members of the employees are being allowed to enter the temple. He said the temple will be opened to the general public in the second phase.
Tell you that the temple gates were closed on April 24 amid the second wave of the corona epidemic and the temple remained closed even during the Rath Yatra. The official said family members of the employees are being allowed to visit Mangal Aarti to Rati Pahura. When entering the temple, they will have to show any identity card issued by the temple authority along with identity proof issued by the government such as the Aadhaar card.
He said that in the second phase, residents of Puri will be allowed to enter the temple from August 16. He said that from August 23, ordinary citizens will be granted entry. The temple will remain closed on August 21 and 22 in view of the close directions in Puri on Saturday and Sunday. Devotees outside Puri will have to submit the final corona vaccine certificate or corona's negative RT-PCR report of the test conducted within 96 hours.
