Bollywood veteran superstars Dilip Kumar and Madhubala are considered to be one of the earliest superhit couples of Bollywood cinema. Both the onscreen bonding was tremendous as well as in personal life both were very close to each other. Discussions about the love of both spreads everywhere. But the end of the love story of Dilip and Madhubala was tragic. The two hearts could not meet. This love story remained incomplete. Madhubala's sister Madhur Bhushan told Dilip-Madhubala's love story in an interview. She had seen the tremendous bonding and relationship between the two and the breaking of the relationship very closely.

Talking about the relation of Dilip Kumar and Madhubala, Madhur Bhushan said, 'He(Dilip Kumar) had come with a chunni. Bhaijaan was also a Pathan. My father never stopped her (Madhubala) from marrying. We were prosperous. Apa and Bhaijaan (Madhubala and Dilip Kumar) were made for each other. Bhaijaan used to come home sometimes. He even saw me in school dress. He was very gracious and loved all of us. He used to call us. Dilip Kumar and Madhubala either used to go out on the drive or they used to sit and talk in the room.

Madhubala's sister Madhur Bhushan had said that while talking about how the matter between the two got spoiled, the film was going on a new round of shooting. It is about the year 1957. BR Chopra was directing the film. The shooting was to take place at someplace in Gwalior. Such information came that the mob has attacked a woman and tore her clothes too. After this, my father asked to change the location of the shooting. They were worried about my sister. The case went to court. Dilip Saheb called my father a dictator. From here, cracks started in the relationship. The relationship broke up. Apa used to cry a lot in those days. Of course, she used to talk on the call and try to resolve the matter. Bhaijaan kept saying that you leave your father and come and live with me. While the sister said him to come home, say sorry to the father and hug him.
