International Malala Day is celebrated on July 12, the birthday of young activist Malala Yousafzai. The United Nations had announced that July 12 every year would be celebrated as Malala Day. Malala Day is celebrated on the birthday of Malala Yousafzai to honour the rights of women and children all over the world. Malala Yousafzai addressed the special session of the United Nations General Assembly on 12 July 2013. The United Nations has declared the birth anniversary of Pakistan's child and women's rights activist Malala Yousafzai as the day. Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani activist. The day is being celebrated to honour the rights of women and children across the world.

Malala Yousafzai, who had publicly raised her voice for girls' education, was shot dead by Taliban bandits on October 9, 2012. Despite being seriously injured in the attack, Malala soon recovered and returned to the people and saw a lot of ferocity in her thoughts than before. She has set up a non-profit organisation 'Malala Fund', which helps young girls go to school.

Awards and Honours: Malala Yousafzai has also been awarded the National Youth Peace Prize for the first time by the Government of Pakistan in the year 2012. In 2014, she became the youngest recipient to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts for child rights at the age of 17. In its review report released by the United Nations at the end of 2019, Malala was called the "most famous teenager in the world" of the decade. Malala has also been awarded honorary Canadian citizenship, making her the youngest person to address the House of Commons in Canada. She has also written another book titled We Are Displaced. It also describes her experiences of moving around the world and experiencing refugee camps. Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Simone de Bauer Prize of France on 09 January 2013.
