A BAFTA spokesperson said, "'Spider-Man: No Way Home' did not satisfy eligibility criteria for the EE British Academy Movie Awards 2022 and is therefore not considered eligible for admission. According to media reports, "As mentioned in our rule book, all movies should be made available to voting members on BAFTA View before round one voting concludes to ensure fairness and equality for all titles and was not made available by the movie distributor."

Round One has been closed since January 3. On BAFTA View, there is a 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' page for members' views, which contains movie details; However, Variety understands that the movie was never made available for viewing.
