Indian dance choreographer, film director, producer and actor, Prabhu Deva conferred with the Padma Shri award and was honoured by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

 After receiving the award, Prabhu Deva took to his social media account to share a photo and express his happiness. Giving all the credits to his fans and to the ones who love him, Prabhu captioned his post as, "Thanks for all the love u all gave, ur love gave me This award, I dedicate this award to the love u all gave.”

M Malayalam actor, producer, and singer Mohanlal also shared his excitement and joy as the recipient of the Padma Bhushan Award. He was quoted by IANS as saying, "It's a great honour. It's a great achievement as an individual, as an actor. It's my 41st year in the movie industry. So I'm giving all the credits to my colleagues, my family & those who supported me in this beautiful journey."

In January, The Ministry of Home Affairs announced 112 names who would be given the prestigious award. Mohanlal Viswanathan, Manoj Bajpayee, Prabhu Deva, Shankar Mahadevan, and Late Kader Khan were amongst the few names of honored by the Padma Shri.
