London: The United Kingdom (UK) government has decided to include India's Covaxin in the approval list of its corona vaccine. The biggest benefit of this decision will be those who got the Covaxin and now want to visit the UK. UK government is going to include Covaxin on November 22 in the list of approved covid-19 vaccines for international travellers.
Alex Ellis, a high commissioner of the UK in India, tweeted about the decision to include Covaxin in the list of approved vaccines. He said Indians who have taken Covaxin will not need to stay quarantined when they come to the UK. The change will come into effect from 4 am on November 22. the UK's decision comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) included Covaxin in the world health organization's (WHO) emergency use listing. UK government has already approved the Covishield.
UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has informed that this will revive international travel. However, he also said that the red list and quarantine system are still important to us. We will not hesitate to include countries on the Red List.
