Patna: A number of major decisions were taken at the Nitish cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. A major decision in the Cabinet was that it has been made mandatory for the children to serve the parents in the state. Failure to do so will have to go to jail. This is being considered as a major decision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's to remove the social evil after the prohibition of liquor and dowry.

According to the information, 17 agencies were approved in the meeting along with several other important decisions in the meeting. With this, the Bihar cabinet decided to bring the Chief Minister's older pension scheme under the Right to Service Act. A key decision was taken at the cabinet meeting that the dependents of the state Jawans martyred in the terrorist attacks of Pulwama and Kupwara in Kashmir will be given government jobs. In the Pulwama attack, Ratan Kumar Thakcook of Bhagalpur and Sanjay Sinha of Masoudhi were martyred. Pintu Kumar of Begusarai was martyred in the Kupwara attack.

With this, a decision was taken in the cabinet meeting that another bridge would be constructed on the river Ganga at Bhagalpur. The bridge will be parallel to the Vikramshila bridge. In addition, Supaul will have an expansion of hydropower plant and will generate 130 MW of electricity. Ddamra Hydropower Project to be expanded. An amount of Rs. 11.68 crore has been sanctioned.
