Dehradun: With the extension of the date of election on behalf of the Election Commission in Punjab, there is a demand for change in the election date in Uttarakhand. On behalf of all the organizations, an appeal has been made to the Commission to fix the date for voting on Sunday and in the first week of March in view of the geographical situation and migration of Uttarakhand. Experts say that March 6 can be a suitable day for voting in Uttarakhand.

In Uttarakhand, the Election Commission has fixed February 14 as the day for voting. This day is Monday. According to experts, there is a possibility of snowfall in the high altitude areas of many districts including Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi in the month of February due to bad weather. Due to which the polling parties have to reach the booth as well as the public has a problem in reaching the booth to cast their vote.

Whereas February 14 is Monday. Due to which it will not be possible for Uttarakhand migrants working in other states including Delhi to come to vote. If the date for voting is fixed on Sunday and the date of voting is fixed in the first week of March, then this may increase the vote percentage. Also, people will not have to face problems like weather and corona virus to vote.
