The tremors were felt 83 km south of Faizabad in Afghanistan at 6.08 am today. According to the National Seismology Centre, the magnitude of the earthquake in Faizabad, Afghanistan, was measured at 4.5 on the Richter scale. No loss of life or property has been reported at present due to these tremors.

Earlier on Saturday, tremors were felt in Haiti. At least 1,297 people died due to the tremor. Tremors of magnitude 7.2 were felt in Haiti on Saturday. Harry Chandler, director of Haiti's civil defense agency, said the highest number of people have died in the south of the country. Several cities have been completely destroyed due to the earthquake on Saturday and landslides are affecting rescue operations.
