In a counter attack at the BJP government, after the Enforcement Directorate  claimed about Christian Michel naming the ‘Gandhi family’ during cross-examination, the grand old  Congress party on Sunday alleged PM Modi led  government of being the sponsor and protector of AgustaWestland.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala  in a presser said that the alleged fixer in the multi-million rip-off is being pressurized to take name of the Gandhi family. Surjewala also alleged that Michel has been leveraged to take Congress’ leaders name in order to be set free.

He also said that in the month of July certain media reports had claimed that Christian Michel’s sister and mother had opened that the ED has pressurized him to make bogus and made-up statements against Congress high-command.

Talking to mediapersons, Surjewala stated “Modi Government is the benefactor, protector, abettor and supporter of AgustaWestland.”

He also alleged that BJP’s involvement in the AgustaWestland VVIP Chopper scam. Surjewala said: “The blacklisting of AgustaWestland was lifted by the Modi Government, which also made it a part of Make in India scheme.”

He also asked why did PM Modi allowed a blacklisted company like AgustaWestland to bid for 100 Naval helicopters for Indian Navy and  why did the government take away AgustaWestland and it's parent company Finmecccanica from the blacklist at the first spot.

“Modi Ji, how did your government lose all the cases internationally against Agusta Westland and why have you chosen not to appeal,” Surjewala asked.
