New Delhi: Experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have said that the coronavirus can affect not only the lungs but almost all parts of the body, and the initial symptoms may be completely unrelated to the chest problem. They emphasized that to include other organs, there is a need to rethink the classification of cases into mild, moderate and severe categories based on the respiratory system.

AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria, Dr MV Padma Srivastava, Chief of the Department of Neurology, Dr Ambuj Rai, Professor, Department of Cardiology, Dr Neeraj Nischal, Associate Professor of Medicine Department along with NITI Aayog organized the weekly 'National Clinical Ground Rounds', churned about the possible effect of coronavirus on the lungs.
