New Delhi: Getting treatment in the private ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has become even more expensive. In fact, now an order has been issued to implement five per cent GST in the private wards of AIIMS. After this, now patients will have to pay Rs 300 extra every day. Earlier in May, the rent of the first deluxe room was doubled from about one and a half.

Two months later, once again treatment in the deluxe room has been made more expensive. The charge will now be Rs 6300 per day. An order was issued by the AIIMS administration on Wednesday in this regard and a note was issued to it. Now after 5 per cent GST on a bed of Rs 6000, its fare has gone up to Rs 6300 with an increase of Rs 300. Earlier, patients are being admitted at an increased fee from June 1. Due to this, patients had to pay one and a half to double for private wards as compared to earlier. In view of this increase, perhaps the AIIMS administration had issued an order on May 19 to increase the fee of the private ward and free up to Rs 300 test fee, which was also implemented.

Let us know that there is a facility of 288 beds in the private ward of AIIMS. In an order issued in May, the AIIMS administration had increased the fee for A B classroom in a private ward from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 per day and the fee for a deluxe classroom from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 per day. Which will now once again be levied by adding 5 per cent GST. Till now, patients admitted in B category private wards had to deposit an advance fee of Rs 33,000 for 10 days and a total of Rs 63,000 for admission to the private ward of the deluxe category.
