Ailing Goa CM Parrikar Attends Office for First Time in Last Four Months on New year's First day

Panaji: Having poor health, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday attended his office at the secretariat here for the very first time in the last four months, on the first day of New Year .

Parrikar who is 63 old has been absent from the office for extended period having pancreatic ailment.  Goa CM had undergone treatment at private hospitals in Mumbai and then USA last year.

Worth mention here he had last attended the office in August 2018, before he was shifted to Mumbai for treatment. Chief minister Parrikar with medical appendage  got down from his car at the main gate of the secretariat at around 10:45 AM, gave his smile at people, and walked inside, sources stated.

Hundreds of BJP workers had gathered outside the complex in cheer when CM Parrikar arrived. He was officially welcomed by BJP MLAs, including Legislative Assembly Speaker Pramod Sawant, ministers Mauvin Godinho, Milind Naik, Nilesh Cabral and former MLA Kiran Kandolkar.

Sources from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) stated Parrikar held a conference with officials of the Personnel department to evaluate existing vacancies and other issues like promotions and transfers that needed dire attention.  Goa CM also met staff of his office, they stated.
