New Delhi: Pollution in Delhi-NCR is continuously increasing. Due to this, people are facing problems. At present, especially those suffering from asthma and respiratory problems, need to take extra precautions. It is advisable to avoid walking in the morning. To deal with this, the third phase of GRAP has also been implemented. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded in the 354 (very poor) category on Wednesday.

The air quality in Noida is also very poor, where the AQI was recorded in the 406 i.e. severe category. The situation in Gurugram is also not good and the AQI was found to be in the 346 i.e. 'very poor' category here. Delhi's overall AQI remains in the very poor category at 354. It was recorded in the 350 'very poor' category near the Delhi airport. The city's AQI was recorded at 390 on Tuesday. In view of the increasing level of pollution, the third phase of GRAP has been implemented. Even after this, restricted work was going on in the city bypassing the rules. Construction work of buildings was going on in more than half a dozen plots in the Krishna Colony area.

The outbreak of pollution in the country's capital Delhi has reached close to ten times in 17 days. It was only on October 10 that Delhi's air was the cleanest in the year. However, within just 17 days, Delhi's air became the most toxic of the year on Tuesday.
