New Delhi: Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc in India. The aviation sector of the country has suffered a lot due to this situation. Corona and the lockdown have also affected the country's leading airline company IndiGo. Recently, the company had announced layoffs of 10% of its employees. The salary of senior employees of Indigo will be cut by up to 35%.

Since May, IndiGo is reducing the salary of its senior personnel by up to 25%. The company has now announced that it is going to increase this deduction a bit more. In order to deal with the financial crisis facing the company due to the epidemic, it will cut the salary of its employees by 10%. IndiGo CEO Ronjoy Dutta told employees in an email, "I am increasing my own salary deduction to 35%. I am asking all our senior vice presidents and above to cut 30% salary. Salary deduction of all pilots has been increased to 28%. While the salary of all the vice-presidents will be cut by 25% and the salary of the associate vice-presidents will be cut by 15%. ''

He has said that this pay cut will be applicable from September 1. Prior to this announcement, Dutta was deducting 25% of his own salary, all senior vice-presidents, and above 20%, all vice-presidents 15% and all associate vice-presidents were deducting 10 % salary.
