NEW DELHI: Tech Mahindra and Bharti Airtel launched a strategic alliance on Thursday to o-develop and promote 5G use cases in India. Airtel and Tech Mahindra will collaborate to create a 5G innovation centre that will focus on building 'Make in India' use cases for both the domestic and global markets.
"We feel this is a win-win cooperation because the two companies have proven technology skills and deep consumer trust," said Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, Bharti Airtel's CEO-Enterprise Business.
In India, Airtel has been in the forefront of 5G demonstrations and testing, while Tech Mahindra has created world-class 5G applications and platforms. Airtel's industry-leading integrated connectivity portfolio of 5G ready mobile networks will be combined with Tech Mahindra's system integration capabilities to bring customised Enterprise Grade Private Networks to market.
Automobiles, aircraft, ports, utilities, chemicals, and oil & gas will be the companies' first emphasis, with plans to expand to additional industries in the future. "Through digitally driven new-age platforms and solutions, the 5G ecosystem will open significant opportunity for industries across sectors to improve productivity and enhance customer experience," said Manish Vyas, CEO, Tech Mahindra Network Services.
