Azim Premji is one of India's richest men today, though if his father had accepted one of pakistan's prime minister Mohammed Ali Jinnah at the time of India's partition, he would have been one of the richest people in Pakistan today. In fact, at the time of India's partition, Jinnah had asked read-write businessmen in Pakistan to take them with him. Where it was also offered by Jinnah from Azim's father. However, Jinnah's offer was rejected by Azim's father Mohammed Hashim, saying he is Hindustani and will remain in India.

It was only a handful of industry leaders who used to talk about it. The Azim Premji Foundation founded Azim Premji University in 2010 and is a not-for-profit venture.
