NEW DELHI: In honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday, the Ajmer Sharif Dargah will prepare and distribute 4,000 kg of vegetarian langar. Syed Afshan Chishty, Gaddi Nashin of the Dargah Ajmer Sharif, said the langar will consist of rice, pure ghee, and dried fruits. This generous offering will be shared with devotees and the underprivileged.

“To mark PM Modi’s birthday, we will organize seva programs at religious sites across the country. We will prepare 4,000 kg of vegetarian food, including rice, pure ghee, and dry fruits, which will be distributed to Gurus and the poor in our vicinity,” Chishty said.

This initiative is part of the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ celebrations, a campaign launched last year on the prime minister’s birthday. The public is invited to join in celebrating and extending birthday wishes to the premier.

The langar will be made in the renowned ‘Big Shahi Deg,’ maintaining the 550-year-old tradition of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty’s Dargah. The Indian Minority Foundation and the Chishty Foundation of Ajmer Sharif are overseeing the entire event. The Dargah will also pray for PM Modi’s long life.

Preparations will commence with the lighting of the ‘Big Shahi Deg’ at 10:30 pm inside the Dargah. Special prayers will be held for peace, unity, prosperity, and the well-being of PM Modi and all citizens.

Devotees and volunteers will gather for prayers, Quran recitations, and performances of ‘Naats’ and ‘Qawwalis’ throughout the night. The langar will be served through the morning, ensuring everyone in attendance and in the neighborhood has a chance to partake in the meal.

The celebrations will conclude with prayers of gratitude and unity for the well-being of the nation and all of humanity.
