NEW DELHI: In a remarkable milestone for Indian aviation, Akasa Air, known for its commitment to environmental sustainability, has achieved yet another first by becoming the inaugural Asian airline to introduce the state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 type aircraft. The momentous event took place on August 1st, as the aircraft, bearing the registration VT-YAV, gracefully touched down at Bengaluru International Airport, where it was greeted with a grand ceremonial reception.

Under the dynamic leadership of Vinay Dube, the Founder CEO, Akasa Air has accomplished the remarkable feat of growing its fleet to 20 aircraft within a mere span of 12 months since commencing operations. This extraordinary achievement not only signifies Akasa's exponential growth but also reflects the boundless potential of India's aviation sector.

Celebrating this milestone, Vinay Dube said, "Today marks a historic turning point in Akasa's journey towards international expansion. Going from zero to 20 aircraft within a year is an achievement that not only reflects Akasa's prowess but also echoes India's immense capabilities. We have consistently maintained the highest on-time performance throughout 2023, a testament to our unwavering commitment to passenger satisfaction."

As the airline continues to soar to new heights, they are expected to announce a substantial three-digit aircraft order by the end of 2023, setting the stage for further growth and innovation in the aviation sector.
