New Delhi: Akash Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani and head of India's leading telecom firm Jio, has been named in the Time100 Next, which is the magazine's list of world's rising stars.

Akash Ambani is the only Indian on the list. However, there is another Indian born American industrial leader, Amrapali Gan, also on the list. "The scion of Indian industrialist royalty, Akash Ambani was always expected to rise in business. But he has been putting in hard work, "Time described about him.

The junior Ambani, aged 30, was promoted in June to the chairman of Jio, India's biggest telecom entity, with more than 426 million subscribers, after being handed a board seat at just 22. "He is since played a prominant role landing multibillion-dollar investments from Google and Facebook," Time said.

The list preojcts 100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future of business, entertainment, sports,  health, politics science and activism, Time said. The list features the similar to American singer SZA, actress Sydney Sweeney, basketball player Ja Morant and Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, actor.

Amrapali Gan was named CEO of OnlyFans, a site for content creators that is mostly used by sex workers who make pornography. She started working there as chief marketing and communications officer in September 2020.

Time said, "Under her leadership, OnlyFans opened a centre for safety and transparency, and the platform's popularity has continued to grow."
