Lucknow: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Arshad Madani has decided to approach the High Court against the death sentence of terrorist Waliullah. Madani has said that he has full faith in the highest courts of the country. Therefore, he will challenge the decision of the Lower Court in the High Court. He further said that there are many such cases in which the lower courts gave punishment, but when those cases went to the higher courts, complete justice was done.

Madani said a great example of this is the Akshardham temple attack, in which the lower court hanged three people, including Mufti Abdul Qayyum, and sentenced four to life imprisonment. But when this case reached the Supreme Court with the legal help of Jamiat, all these people were not only acquitted with respect, but the court also strongly reprimanded the Gujarat Police for implicating the innocent in the charge of terrorism. It is noteworthy that Judge Jitendra Kumar Sinha of Ghaziabad's Special Sessions Court on Monday (June 6, 2022) sentenced Waliullah to death, who was found guilty in the 2006 serial bomb blast case at Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi. Waliullah is a resident of Phulpur in UP. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has been providing legal help to him for the last 10 years. Let us inform that 27 people were killed in these blasts, while more than 160 people were injured.

Let us tell you that on March 7, 2006, Varanasi, the city of Lord Shiva, was shaken by the blasts. The Samajwadi Party (SP) government formed in 2012 had taken steps to drop the cases against the 'Muslims' accused in this case. A petition was filed against this in the High Court. Cases against the accused were pending in the courts of several districts. It was said in the petition that the move of the state government would give more impetus to the perpetrators of the bomb blasts. In this case, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav had tried hard to release Waheedullah and Shamim, who had stored the bombs.

After which, the Allahabad High Court had lashed out at the SP government and said that how can the government decide who is a terrorist and who is not? The High Court had said that this decision is of the court. The High Court had asked whether the government wanted to encourage terrorism by taking such steps. Today the cases are being withdrawn and tomorrow he will be given Padma Bhushan.
