Lucknow: With the Lok Sabha elections looming in 2024, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav has made a significant declaration, stating that there is no longer an alliance between the Samajwadi Party and Pallavi Patel's Apna Dal (Kameravadi). Emphasizing that the alliance existed only until the 2022 elections, Yadav clarified that there will be no collaboration in 2024. This announcement comes amidst a series of departures from the SP camp, with several colleagues severing ties with Yadav.

The dissolution of alliances appears to be a recurring trend, with partners departing from Akhilesh Yadav's circle one after another, or Yadav himself terminating these relationships. The disassociation began with Omprakash Rajbhar distancing himself from the Samajwadi Party immediately after the 2022 elections, ultimately breaking their alliance. Subsequently, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary also terminated his alliance with SP, opting to join the BJP. Today, Akhilesh Yadav himself declared the end of the alliance with Pallavi Patel's Apna Dal (Kameravadi).

Additionally, Keshav Dev Maurya, leader of Mahan Dal, is reportedly discontented with Akhilesh Yadav, further diminishing the possibility of a partnership with the Samajwadi Party in 2024, except for Congress.

The departure of party members and leaders from Akhilesh Yadav's camp has been notable, with numerous OBC leaders who had previously supported him in 2022 distancing themselves from Yadav. Notable figures such as Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharam Singh Saini, Omprakash Rajbhar, and Dara Singh have parted ways with Yadav. Moreover, allies such as Omprakash Rajbhar's Subhaspa, Jayant's RLD, and Pallavi Patel's Apna Dal (Kameravadi) have also ended their associations.

Recently, Apna Dal (Kameravadi) announced its intention to contest on three seats in UP for the Lok Sabha elections - Mirzapur, Phulpur, and Kaushambi. However, SP and Congress, part of the Indi alliance, stated that no discussions had occurred regarding this announcement by Apna Dal (Kameravadi).

The tensions between SP and Apna Dal (Kameravadi) escalated further when, shortly after the latter claimed the Mirzapur Lok Sabha seat, SP announced its candidate for the constituency. Rajendra S Bind has been nominated as the Samajwadi Party's candidate for the Mirzapur seat.

As the political landscape continues to shift and alliances evolve, Akhilesh Yadav's decision to end the alliance with Apna Dal (Kameravadi) underscores the dynamic nature of electoral politics in Uttar Pradesh.
