Lucknow: After the defeat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, some Muslim leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP) are said to be upset with party chief Akhilesh Yadav. The SP chief is accused of maintaining silence on issues related to Muslims. Amidst all this, on April 16, Akhilesh arrived at an Iftar party at the Eidgah in Aishbagh, Lucknow. Akhilesh Yadav is believed to be trying to send a message to Muslims through this that sp is with him.
A day after the Iftar party, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Kamal Farooqui warned Akhilesh that if he maintained his silence in this manner, his political existence could be in danger. Many Muslim leaders have been accusing Akhilesh of the past few days that he does not raise his voice against the action against Muslims. Kamal Farooqui said, "The truth is that Muslims are being used as 'political napkins'. The Muslim community should think about this whether they have taken the contract to vote for such parties, which do not raise their voice for them.''
Farooqui further said that in the last assembly elections, if the SP has been able to win more than 100 seats, then the Muslim community has a big contribution to it. Farooqui said that if Akhilesh Yadav does not realise this and will not speak for Muslims, then his political existence could be in danger. He said that if this is the attitude of the SP, Muslims will look for another option. After the return of the Yogi government in UP, the bulldozer is running fast. In this action, there has also been a bulldozing action against some illegal encroaching Muslim leaders. Muslim leaders alleged that Akhilesh Yadav does not raise his voice against the action taken against them.
