Lucknow: SP chief and former CM Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the Yogi Government over the renaming of cities in UP. He has attacked the Yogi Government in a tweet on Friday. Akhilesh posted pictures of guava on his Twitter account. Meanwhile, he asked if the name of Allahabadi guava is the same or it has also been changed?

In a tweet, Akhilesh Yadav questioned, "Bhai is the most famous guava still called 'Allahabadi guava' or has also changed its name to 'Prayagraji guava'?" Mughalsarai station became Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay station in August 2018 after the state government's proposal was approved by the Central Government. In addition, Mughalsarai Tehsil has been renamed as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Tehsil.

The Yogi government also changed the names of two northern districts of Faizabad and Prayagraj. Faizabad has now been renamed as Ayodhya. Sangam Nagri Allahabad has been renamed as Prayagraj. In addition, there has been a demand for renaming of several districts of UP.
