After a lot of speculations, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani came together for the Hindi remake of the hit Tamil horror comedy, Kanchana. The makers, who had taken up the official rights of the Raghava Lawrence directorial last year, had already confirmed Akshay for the film it's only recently that Kiara has been roped in to play the supporting lead.

According to the report of Mid Day, Akshay plays the protagonist who gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender and Kiara will portray the superstar's girlfriend in the movie. Although the female lead did not have a significant role in the original version, Kiara will enjoy a substantial part in the adaptation. The script too has been tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the Hindi film audience."

As per source, the actors will begin shooting for the film in the second half of this month in a start-to-finish schedule. Also, Raghava Lawrence will himself step into direct this Hindi remake, tentatively said to be titled Laxmi. Do you think Akshay and Kiara will be able to live up to the original?

Akshay and Kiara will also be seen sharing screen space in Good News, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
