Two fresh posters for Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie, OMG 2, have been released. The movie is a follow-up to Oh My God, which starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal and was released in 2012 and became a huge box office success. Akshay Kumar played Lord Krishna in the first installment, and he will play Lord Shiva in OMG 2. Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi also play the lead characters in OMG 2. While Akshay Kumar's portrayal of Lord Shiva was hinted at in earlier OMG 2 posters, the new poster provides a closer look at Akshay Kumar's appearance in the role. Additionally, he shared Pankaj Tripathi's OMG 2 first look.
The first poster that Akshay Kumar shared featured a close-up of him as Lord Shiva. Long hair, blue paint on his neck, kohled eyes, and ash on his forehead are all visible on him. The movie will still open in theaters on August 11, 2023, as scheduled for OMG 2. Akshay Kumar posted the poster. wrote, "Bas kuch dino mein (coming in few days) OMG 2 in theatres on August 11. Teaser drops soon.” Tiger Shroff reacted to his look and wrote, "Paaji," along with fire emoji.
An hour later, Pankaj Tripathi's character from OMG 2 debuted in a post by Akshay Kumar. Pankaj Tripathi is pictured in the poster standing among a crowd of people with his hands folded. He is pictured with a straightforward appearance, donning a grey Nehru jacket over a checkered shirt. "Meet us on the path of truth," or "Milte hain sachchai ki raah par," wrote Akshay Kumar, while sharing the poster. Meanwhile, Viacom18 Studios shared Pankaj Tripathi's poster, and introduced his character by tweeting, "Miliye Kanti Sharan Mudgal se#OMG2 in theatres on August 11. Teaser drops soon." In theaters, OMG 2 will compete with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's upcoming movie Gadar 2. It previously clashed with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and films starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Anandya Panday, including Dream Girl 2. Jawan will now be released in September, Dream Girl on August 25, and Animal on December.
On August 10, Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil action movie Jailer will arrive in theaters one day earlier than OMG 2. Heart of Stone, Alia Bhatt's first Hollywood production, will also be available on Netflix on August 11.
