Mumbai: The upcoming film featuring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday will showcase the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a prominent barrister in India. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, this movie highlights Nair's courageous efforts to reveal the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre during the British Raj.

On October 18, Dharma Productions announced the film's release date on Instagram, stating it will hit theaters on March 14, 2025. The post read, "Ek ankahi kahani, ek ansuna sach... Starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan & Ananya Panday - this untitled film is releasing in cinemas on 14th March, 2025. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi."

The film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire, authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Notably, Raghu Palat is the great-grandson of C. Sankaran Nair.

In 2021, Karan Johar expressed his excitement on Instagram about bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair to the big screen, emphasizing the historical significance of Nair's life. At that time, the cast details were not disclosed, but a note from Dharma Productions highlighted the film's focus on Nair's legendary courtroom battle against the British Raj. It emphasized how Nair's bravery contributed to the Indian freedom struggle and showcased the importance of fighting for the truth.

C. Sankaran Nair was not only a significant legal figure but also served as the former President of the Indian National Congress and was a member of the Viceroy's Executive Council.
