TCL Communication-owned brand Alcatel launched its Pop Star smartphone in India. The smartphone runs Android Lollipop and provides a 5-inch HD fully laminated display of 720x1280 pixels resolution. It is a 4G enabled smartphone and is powered by a 1GHz 64-bit quad core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB in-built storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 32GB capacity.
The smartphone comes with 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. It also comes with a 2,000 mAh battery. Praveen Valecha, regional director of Alcatel APAC BU India, said in a statement "POP STAR is our fashionable yet affordable range of smartphones. We are very excited to launch this phone in partnership with Gadgets 360°and this is another step towards our recent e-commerce initiative to bring technological advanced and stylish phones at affordable pricing."
The company had earlier launched three smartphones in its Pop series, dubbed as Pop 4, Pop 4+ and Pop 4s. The Pop 4 features a 5-inch display, while both the Pop 4+ and Pop 4s have 5.5-inch display.
