Lucknow: The accused who threatened to blow up the big Hanuman temple and Mankameshwar temple in Aliganj in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested on Wednesday night. The accused Shakeel is originally from Delhi. Police have recovered several suspicious books and papers from him. According to ACP Aliganj Akhilesh Singh, on July 29, a letter was received through registered mail at the address of the new big Hanuman temple in Aliganj threatening to bomb several major temples and RSS offices in the city.
The temple management had lodged a complaint with the joint commissioner of police Crime Nilibja Chaudhary in this regard. After which the ACP immediately handed over the investigation of the case to the crime branch and Aliganj police. Aliganj police arrested the accused near Purnia bridge late on Wednesday night. The accused Shakeel is originally from Delhi. He lives in a rented house in Aliganj.
According to information furnished by the inspector-in-charge Aliganj Panne Lal Yadav, the letter was sent from Triveni Nagar's sub-post office. At which the police team started scanning the footage CCTV the vicinity. After which police launched a search for the accused on the basis of footage based on suspicious activity. Shakeel was nabbed on Wednesday night.
