Every year India celebrates its Independence Day on 15 August. On this day, the Prime Minister of the country unfurls the tricolour from the Red Fort and addresses the country. On seeing the tricolour waving, every Indian feels proud. Many rules have also been made about the tricolour, let's know about them.
The flag is hoisted after sunrise and before sunset.
The flag should flutter in the air. It should not be tilted.
Indian Flag is given great respect. Neither the tricolour can be immersed in the water nor it is placed on the ground. There is also a provision of 3 years of jail or fine for insulting it verbally or literally.
Our national flag should always be in a rectangular form. The ratio of its length and width is 3: 2.
The Indian National Flag should be made of cotton, silk or Khadi. However, sometimes the flag is also made of paper.
Whenever you hoist the flag, it should hoisted at high altitude.
While hoisting the flag, make sure that the tricolour is not torn or crumbled.
If the tricolour is torn or muddy or not usable, it should be burned in solitude with the help of fire. If you want, you can also immerse the flag in water but with respect and following the steps issued by the government. Doing so does not hurt the dignity of the tricolour.
We cannot wear tricolour as a garment. Also, the use of tricolour as undergarments, handkerchiefs or cushions is a crime.
