All-Party delegation in Kashmir ends without a major breakthrough.!

Kashmir, Recently an All-party delegation of parliamentarians met in Jammu -Kashmir seeking to end the on-going turbulence in Kashmir which has resulted in 70 deaths and an estimated 1000 people being severly injured .

The meet ended without any serious breakthrough but following are the latest developments that were discussed by different MP’S”-

• MPs have said that the Jammu and Kashmir government has failed to deal effectively with the unrest and has alleged that misleading statements were made by the state's political leaders, which made the situation worse.

 • It has been noted that the unrest is more in the rural areas of South Kashmir and says it is important to control the people who are coming out on the streets to create law and order problems.

• The use of pellet guns must be stopped and also that many people who have been injured by the use of these by security forces trying to control crowds must be compensated.

• It was also recommended by some members of all-party delegation that, Separatists should be isolated and dealt with separately in Kashmir.

• Members of the delegation have also emphasised on the need to lift curfew and re-open schools to restore normal life in the Valley. The movement of civilians must not be restricted, they have said. MPs have also recommended a relief package for those killed in the unrest.

The delegation comprised 26 MPs from 20 parties. Apart from the Home Minister, the delegation also included Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, his Lok Sabha colleague Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leader Ambika Soni, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan (of LJP), JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury and CPI leader D Raja.
