Corona infection is more in Maharashtra as compared to other states of India. The Uddhav Thackeray government, which was surrounded by its bizarre decision on distribution of newspapers and magazines, had to make it clear that the sale of newspapers in the state would continue from the stalls. The Chief Minister's Office made it clear in a series of tweets that it has only advised the print media to avoid door-to-door delivery. In fact, before this, the Uddhav government had said to ban the door-to-door distribution of newspapers and magazines, which was strongly opposed.
For your information, let us tell you that this decision of Uddhav government was shocking because Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, along with health organizations, doctors and experts, has also considered newspapers as safe from the point of corona infection. The Uddhav government, which has been badly engulfed in its decision, has clarified that it wholeheartedly supports the media and needs the support of the print media to deal with Corona. CMO said - truth cannot be suppressed and for this the support of print media is necessary. On all-round criticism of the decision to ban door-to-door delivery, the CMO clarified that confusion was created without reason.
Apart from this, on the decision of the Uddhav government, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that the Center has given permission to resume many types of businesses from the coming 20 April. On the same lines, the state has also issued a notification to TV, digital media and newspapers. But this notification was improperly changed on Saturday. Fadnavis said that the government should not ban the distribution of newspapers through reliable information in this phase of fake news. Stopping fake news is the biggest challenge and newspapers do this in the most effective way.
