Washington: Astronauts are facing a lot of problems these days at the International Space Station (ISS). According to NASA, none of the ISS toilets are functioning, due to which astronauts have to use diapers. According to ISS Commander Lusa Permetano, the toilets available in the US side is indicating continuous faults.

The toilet installed in the Russian part is full and can no longer be used. The International Space Station has two toilets built in Russia. One toilet comes in the American part, then the other toilet comes in the Russian part. In addition to these two, the Soyuz spacecraft belonging to the space station also has toilets, but they are used during the flight of the spacecraft. It is used rarely in a stable condition.

Right now two space stations are working in space. One of it is operated with the help of the US, Russia, the European Union, Canada, and Japan. It is also known as 'International Space Station' (ISS). The second space station is from China and is named 'Tiangong-2'. The ISS is placed in the lower orbit of the Earth. This station continues to revolve around the Earth. Earlier Russia's space station 'Mir' orbited the Earth, but it was dropped in the South Pacific Ocean in 2001 due to the high cost of operation and security reasons.
