17 foreign nationals were among those held hostage by the terrorists. 22 people were killed, mostly foreign nationals, from the firing of terrorists in the restaurant. An Indian citizen was also killed in this attack. While hearing the same case, the court has now sentenced 7 terrorists to death. One of the 7 terrorists, Rakibul Hasan Rigan, was wearing the cap of the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS) when the terrorists were brought outside the court premises to be taken back to jail after the Dhaka court sentenced.

The Islamic State (ISIS) logo was also engraved on its cap. During the hearing in a Dhaka court wearing the cap of Rakibul's Islamic State, the public prosecutor objected to the negligence of the jail administration, raising objections. He had said how the terrorist organization reached the cap of the Islamic State.
