Lucknow: UP government has set up a commission to investigate the death of gangster Vikas Dubey in an alleged encounter with the Uttar Pradesh police. Retired Judge of Allahabad High Court Shashikant Aggarwal will investigate the matter. He has been appointed for this commission by UP Governor Anandiben Patel.
In addition to the encounter of Vikas Dubey, this commission will investigate the killing of many of his operatives in an encounter with the police. The entire investigation will be done under the Commission of Inquiry Act 1952. This commission will have to submit its report in 2 months. The headquarters of the commission will be Kanpur. The UP Police claimed that Vikas Dubey was killed when the vehicle carrying him from Ujjain to Kanpur was overturned. During this, Vikas Dubey tried to run away. Vikas Dubey was killed in police action.
Five other henchmen of Vikas Dubey were killed in various encounters with the police. A notification issued by the UP government said that the encounter between the police and criminals during the incident of Bikaru village and the period from July 3 to July 10 is a matter of public importance. For this reason, its investigation is necessary.
