Aloke Singh took charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air India Express at its headquarters in Kochi on Monday. Singh fills the role of low-cost arm of Air-India (AI). He was the successor of Shyam Sundar, an AI veteran. He has been appointed for three years on a contractual basis.

A statement by Air India Express said, "He brings three decades of diverse experience in air transport and travel, with leadership roles in Air India, Alliance Air and a Gulf-based national carrier". Aloke Singh has more than three decades of diverse experience in air transport and travel, with leadership roles in Air India, Alliance Air and a Gulf-based national carrier. 

Bidding for Air India to be done on enterprise value

Air India Express is a wholly-owned subsidiary of disinvestment-bound Air India. Previously, Singh was associated with an aviation consulting firm CAPA in Delhi before taking on the current assignment at Air India Express. Air India Express has around 24 B737-800 aircraft in its fleet.
