According to the current regulations, the oldest member of BTS, Jin, must enlist for his required military service by the end of the year. BTS is made up of seven members. Their recruitment has been a hot topic in the media for a time, and attempts to exempt them from it have failed.

BTS has been named the official public relations representative for Busan, which is vying to host the 2030 World Expo. BTS and its agency HYBE have committed to doing everything in their power, in their capacity as official partners, to support the promotion of the 2030 Busan World Expo and improve the bid. One of their many compelling selling points is a concert scheduled for mid-October in or around Busan, which the group has already begun to prepare.

According to the most recent update, Park Hyung Joon, the current mayor of Busan, is claimed to have put out a different idea for BTS's military duty. He has prepared an alternative service where the group will be expected to perform duties comparable to those in the military while promoting Busan. The seven would be held accountable for their respective countries, serving as the event's legitimate ambassadors and exerting their influence around the world.

He also underlined the value of military service to all South Korean males who are physically capable, and he said he wanted to take this chance to use BTS's support to help them win the bid. For the chance to host the 2030 Globe Expo and present their city and nation to the rest of the world, Busan is vying alongside cities like Rome, Odessa, and Riyadh.
