On August 18, it was officially announced that BTS had surpassed American musician Justin Bieber's previous record of 69.8 million YouTube subscribers to become the first male act to do so. Prior to this, BLACKPINK accomplished the same feat in November 2021. As the artist with the highest views across all of their official channels on the platform, they also defeated Justin Bieber.

In other developments, BTS members Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook provided the voices for Blanco's "Bad Decision," which debuted at number one on this week's "Hot 100" chart. Billboard said, "The song "Bad Decision" was streamed 10.1 million times in its first week of availability. There were 66,000 digital downloads and CD/cassette sales." BTS was the first Korean act to have more than 10 songs included on the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10 with this.

Before that, BTS released "Dynamite" in 2020, then "Savage Love" remix, "Life Goes On," "Butter," "Permission to Dance," and "My Universe" in association with Coldplay. The song was ranked as the top song. There were just 5 hotshots who made their debut at the top simultaneously with the double announcement. In addition, "On" is in fourth place, "Boy With Luv" is in eighth, "Fake Love" is in tenth, etc.

This week's top spot on the Billboard detailed charts was shared with "Bad Decisions." It debuted at the top of the "Digital Song Sales" chart right away. On the "Billboard Global 200" and "Billboard Global (without the US)," it came in at positions 6 and 7, respectively. This song previously made its debut at position #53 on the most recent list (August 12–18) of the UK's official singles chart, or "Top 100," which is regarded as one of the two biggest pop charts in the world together with Billboard.
