Alvaro Bautista and Marc Márquez are losing the dominance so long

New Delhi:-  Alvaro Bautista says Marc Márquez's talent is no longer enough to make a difference in MotoGP. The reigning world SBK champion is well on his way to a second consecutive title, a feeling Marquez has grown accustomed to heading into the 2020 MotoGP season.

But the Repsol Honda rider hasn't been world champion since injury-plagued and the Japanese manufacturer's rapid decline.

Honda is going through one of the toughest times in MotoGP history, meaning the eight-time world champion has a huge responsibility on his shoulders, as the riders on the other side of the pits from Marquez always find it difficult to pull off.

Bautista is still plagued with injuries in the 2023 season and believes Marquez won't again exhibit the same level of dominance he once had, as aerodynamic changes to the MotoGP bike make it difficult for his talent to overcome Honda's current predicament.

Bautista said in an interview with Speedweek. "Even if you think you've made a full recovery, spending a lot of time off the track and having to go through multiple surgeries can leave a mental scar."

"The physical condition is different, but the mental side is different. Marquez has a lot of talent, but in his current situation you can't rely on that alone."

Bautista also spoke about the technical side of MotoGP and how it affected Marquez, something he knows well after two days of testing at Misano.

"Technically, he's not in the best position. Honda doesn't let him drive the way he wants," added Bautista. “I also think that the way we ride in MotoGP has changed because of aerodynamics, electronics and all the inventions that have been made.”

"It all started when Marc got injured. When he came back he found a completely different MotoGP, riding differently and less aggressively than before." "Now you can see they're drifting less. Marc is always aggressive, but you can see that it doesn't work anymore.
