Captain Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister of Punjab seems to be keen on seeking support and help from his contemporaries belonging to Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan so that they can battle against the widely prevailing evil, drug abuse in the state of Punjab.

Captain Amarinder Singh has also approached the Union Home Minister of the country, Rajnath Singh, to aid them in their initiative to eradicate drug abuse from all over the state and also the country. You must be informed that the Delhi Police reports to him regarding all the cultivation and smuggling of narcotics and check the production, selling and consumption of drugs.

Previously, Captain Amarinder Singh also had made an announcement regarding the free treatment of drug addicts in the rehabilitation centers that are being run by the state.

As per the reports, the Chief Minister also held a meeting that involved civil surgeons, medical superintendents, and principals of the government medical colleges. He then ordered police not to harm or humiliate the addicts or their families.

He along with the deputy commissioner made sure that proper funds are provided for the treatment of the drug addicts.

Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh also affirmed that if required, he would sanction the capital from the chief minister's relief fund. The Chief Minister has also commanded the health department of the state to work more towards enhancing the possibilities of providing financial help from renowned national and international health organizations.
