JAMMU: Over 4 lakh devout pilgrims have already paid their respects at the sacred Amarnath cave shrine since the commencement of the 62-day-long annual pilgrimage on July 1. The pilgrimage, set to conclude on August 31, has been witnessing an overwhelming response from devotees.
A Holy Journey Begins: On Wednesday (August 2), a group of 984 pilgrims commenced their spiritual odyssey from the Bhagwati Nagar camp in Jammu. Their destination is the revered Amarnath cave shrine nestled at an elevation of 3,880 meters in Kashmir.
Devotion Unites: The batch departing from the Bhagwati Nagar camp consists of 498 pilgrims who have chosen the traditional 48-km Pahalgam track in Anantnag district for their journey. Simultaneously, another 486 pilgrims are embarking on the 14-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district. The amalgamation of diverse routes reflects the unifying spirit of devotion among the pilgrims.
Overwhelming Response: The enthusiasm and dedication of the pilgrims have been unmatched, with over 1.41 lakh individuals already leaving the Jammu base camp to undertake the journey to the valley. The divine aura and sanctity of the Amarnath Yatra have attracted followers from far and wide.
