Soap and water gets your hands clean, but there are just some days where you need a little extra. Commercial hand sanitizers are often so chemically-scented that sometimes the smell is unbearable. There really is no need for your nose and eyes to burn every time you apply hand sanitizer, and this DIY formula won’t dry your hands. Kill the germs, soften your hands, and enjoy mood-enhancing aromatherapy.

The benefits of DIY hand sanitizer:

-You know exactly what’s going into it and there are no nebulous ingredients.

-You can turn it into aromatherapy, at the same time bumping the antibacterial action up a notch with essential oils

-You can make it so much more moisturizing than the store-bought alternatives.

This version of hand sanitizer can be made right at home with powerful essential oils and a few other ingredients. Here is the Recipe for DIY Hand sanitizer.

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup aloe vera gel (as pure as you can get)

3/4 cup rubbing alcohol (at least 91%)

1/8 cup vegetable glycerin (optional) (if omitted, use an extra 1/8 cup. aloe vera gel)

10 drops essential oil (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Pour everything into a food processor or blender and let it go on high for a minute or two.

Pour it into a bottle and use as you would any hand sanitizer.

It can be used for six months or more.
