New Delhi: Amazon Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Bezos has resigned from his post. He will step down by the end of this year. Amazon announced on Tuesday that AWS CEO Andy Jassy will replace Jeff Bezos in the third quarter of this year. Simultaneously, it has been reported that Jeff Bezos will become the executive chairman of the board. Bezos has written a letter to his employees about this decision.
In his letter written on Tuesday, he has said that he is leaving the CEO role in the company. Jassy is currently the head of Amazon Web Services. Bezos started Amazon as a startup and now the company has become one of the largest companies in the world. Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world based on his stake in Amazon. The company had sold $ 100 billion in the last three months of 2020. Due to which Amazon's profit had increased to a record level.
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in the year 1994. From an online bookstore, Amazon has transformed into a mega online retailer today which sells all kind of products worldwide. Amazon has made a mark in many areas including grocery, streaming services, TV, cloud computing, robotics, artificial intelligence.
