Few companies around the world are extending their Work from Home option post December 2020. Amazon adds to the list recently. The corporate is allowing its employees to avail the work from home option depending on their roles till June 2021.Earlier, the company has said its corporate workers are expected to return to the office by January 2021. The sources said the WFH extension is applicable for workers worldwide.

Amid the increase in COVID-19 cases, the company has comes to this decision. A report from the Amazon revealed 19,816 of its front-line employees in the US tested positive or been presumed positive for the disease. Amazon was ranked second by Forbes on the World's Best Employers 2020 list, Samsung on the top. Forbes surveyed 160,000 employees from 750 companies across 58 countries around the world and the employees were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family, satisfaction with their employers' COVID-19 response, economic footprint, talent development, gender equality, social responsibility, and other factors. Amazon pays $15 as a minimum wage and lots of benefits were given from day one to the employees, said Amazon HR team.

Amazon employs more than 875,000 people around the world and, since the pandemic outbreak an additional 175,000 new employees affected economically were provided job opportunities. Amazon through its presence says it is spending billions of dollars in relation to safety measures.
