Amazon India has finally closed its iOS app in India. With this, iPhone users can no longer use Amazon's earlier mobile app. On opening the Amazon app, customers are getting a notification to use the website or download a new app. The new app for Amazon's iOS has been named Amazon India - Shop and Pay.
Now iOS users will have to use this app or they will have to work from the website itself. At the same time, Amazon India used to show notification of updates every time the app was opened for the past several months, although the app was not actually updated. Along with this, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) QR code has been supported in Amazon's new app. For this, customers have to signup to Amazon Pay UPI.
If your iPhone already has an Amazon app, then you cannot use it. After opening the app, Amazon India site is opening in the browser automatically. In such a situation, you cannot access the old Amazon app. In the old app, the company is giving support for this app will stop soon notifications. The company has said that in the new app, users' shopping history, Amazon pay balance and billing address will be present. Amazon has not stated the reason behind shutting down the old app.
