Instead of getting information about product recalls through third-party websites and other news sources, Amazon shoppers can now use the new "Recalls and Product Safety Warnings" link at the top of the "Your Orders" page on the order page. page is now accessible. When a consumer clicks on a banner or link emailed to them, they are taken to a page where they can read more about the potential safety risks of the product they purchased and see options such as refunds, returns and repairs.

"This new feature will allow us to directly contact 100% of customers who purchased recalled products from us and provide clear instructions on what to do next," Amazon said in a blog post announcing the new feature.

Although this feature is intended for products sold by Amazon, Amazon is making this new system available to third-party retailers as well. Our US-based distributors may choose to use Amazon's Recall Logistics Service (RLS). This allows sellers to notify customers who have purchased affected products, while allowing Amazon to manage the refund process and return logistics on behalf of the seller.

However, the downside here is that the system appears to be limited to US merchants and is opt-in based. Many Amazon marketplace sellers are based overseas, in regions that do not have the same security standards as the United States.
