The United States, one of the world's strongest countries, rejected every fifth application filed for H-1B visas last year. Indian IT companies were the most affected by this. These companies have the highest rate of rejection of applications. This visa is very popular among Indian professionals.
According to a report by the NGO National Foundation for American Policy on this matter, the rate of rejections of applications has decreased from 24 to 21 percent in 2019 compared to the year 2018. Based on the study of government data, this organization said that the rate of rejections of applications from Indian IT companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Wipro and Infosys was the highest. Whereas for American companies like Amazon and Google, this rate was found low. That is, their applications were much less rejected compared to Indian companies. The rate of rejections of TCS applications was 31 percent. While for Infosys, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra, the rate was 31 percent, 47 percent, and 37 percent. On the other hand, in the year 2019, the rate of rejection of visa applications of Amazon and Google was just four percent.
Apart from this, the Foundation for American Policy said in its report, 'It is expected that this year the Trump administration can issue new rules for H-1B visas. This will make it more difficult for companies working in the US to hire highly-skilled foreign nationals' The same H-1B visa is very popular among Indian IT professionals. On the basis of this visa, American companies hire foreigners. But after Donald Trump came to power, the rules of this visa have been tightened.
