The farmers protest against the laws issued by central government as Farm Laws has been continued since last year. Amid the corona surge in nation farmers have postponed their Parliament march earlier. Samyukta Kisan Morcha has announced that farmers will not march to Parliament in protest as was planned earlier.

Farmer leaders also announced after a meeting that they have opened one side of the road leading to the Delhi borders to allow smooth movement of emergency services. Farmers, however, maintained that they will not agree to Covid testing at protest sites. Balbir Singh Rajewal, president of BKU and an SKM member, said, “Farmers are helping Covid warriors in every possible manner to reach their destination.” The SKM meeting was also postponed today due to some internal issues. Scores of youth in the protest are maximum among the protesters. The youths are gathered from Punjab and Haryana. Some youths were associated with Lakha Sidhana, gangster-turned-social activist, some belong to Student for Society organisations and some youths were associated with Navdeep Singh Jalbera of Ambala. The youths after a meeting were pacified and sent back to their protesting sites.

Notably, the SKM had announced the ‘Parliament march’ programme earlier but due to some internal reasons, the programme is delayed by the SKM leaders.
