One of the most awaited movies of the year, Brahmastra remains in the news even before the release as it called for boycott due to earlier statements of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The makers and fans were left disappointed after the grand promotional event was called off last week.
As per the information, The event which was supposed to take place in Hyderabad had SS Rajamouli and RRR star JR NTR’ s the chief guest. Also joining the leading duo were Nagarjun, Mouni Roy, and producer Karan Johar but the event got cancelled last minute after Hyderabad Police denied permission due to overcrowding. Another reason was that enough police force couldn't be deployed as the event clashed with the Ganesh festival.
As per the reports, “There was proper police permission but due to overcrowding the permission was revoked the makers must have lost about Rs 1.50 crore."  After the cancellation of the movie South actor JR NTR said, “I apologize to my fans for canceling the event at Ramoji due to Ganpati visarjan. Police didn’t allow people to reach the venue” Rajamouli added, "Police personal were needed for Ganesh Visarjan and hence, we couldn't do the event at the original place."
Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. In the movie, Ranbir plays the role of Shiva, who has the power of Agni (fire) while Alia plays his love interest. Amitabh Bachchan is Ranbir's Guru (Teacher) in the movie. Produced by Karan Johar's production house Dharma Productions, the film has been in the news since 2014. It will release in three parts, and the first part,  Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, is slated to release on September 9. It will release in five regional languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
